Been to WDW the week of Christmas before but not on New Years. Probably checking in this time on NYE. My daughter will be 11. Should we try to go to one of the parks that day to watch fireworks and use FP+? Or just stay @ our hotel Wild Lodge? EP or MK...

    Hi Megan,

Walt Disney World during the holidays is magical! We have been blessed to have visited three times during the week between Christmas and New Year!

We have done New Year's Eve twice. Once in Magic Kingdom and once in Epcot. We did Magic Kingdom when our daughters were about your daughter's age. It was absolutely packed especially on Main Street. We were in the park by 4:00 pm to make sure we could stay in the park. The park did close and by 10:00 pm if you went on Main Street, you had to exit.

In 2015, we went to Epcot for New Year's Eve. My daughters and nephews were between 15-21. We were in the park by the morning and thought about leaving. However, we ended up staying because we did not want to worry about not getting back in. We had a blast in Epcot. Each country celebrated the New Year differently. Japan had a silent dance party that was a blast.

Both trips we used our FastPass+. You will need to use them. Epcot just gives you more space to enjoy the magic of the evening.

If you want to view the fireworks, head to the beach at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Best view!

    Have a magical vacation!
