We will be in WDW the week before Christmas. We are curious & hoping there is something similar to the Cruise ships where there is a fun drop off/young-teen hang out, while parents maybe enjoy something else near by.

    Hello Kristin!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort holiday vacation! Thank you for sending us your excellent question about traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with older kids, tweens and teens!

Currently, the only thing similar to the drop-off and teen activities available on Disney Cruise Line sailings, are the Walt Disney World Resort Children’s Activity Centers. Unfortunately, these Centers are only suitable for children 3 to 12 years of age. In-room babysitting services are also available, but only for children 6 months to 12 years of age.

While the type of service you are looking for is currently unavailable, there are tons of things for teens to enjoy at Walt Disney World Resort. I suggest you visit the ‘Older Kids, Tweens and Teens’ page and click on the ‘Best Day Ever’ section to see itineraries created with older kids in mind.

Kristin, I hope I have helped answer your question. If you have any more questions or require further clarification please visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again. We are always here to sprinkle your vacations with extra Pixie Dust!

    Happy Planning,
