Hi, Rachel!
Your question has me laughing over here! All I can say is "Welcome to the Mommy Club!" It goes by quick, but it can be tough. I am sure you are a great mom and you will muddle through with the best!
Let's start with what to pack. There is just no avoiding having lots of "stuff" in your bag. I suggest a roomy backpack. I know, not glamourous, but functional. You will need a complete extra set of clothes for your princess, wet wipes, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, snacks or crackers, water bottle or juice box, and small toys to entertain your her. For you, an extra Tshirt, phone charger, and a water bottle. Also, some plastic bags to toss in wet/dirty clothes is a big help. If you bring a
stroller from home, try to bring one with a basket underneath for your bag. If not, the backpack is the easiest to carry around.
Now onto the shoe. I resisted wearing any type of athletic shoe for the longest time. After lots of miles chasing a
pre-schooler, my feet surrendered to the not-so-pretty shoe! Believe me, comfort rules, especially for your feet when at Walt Disney World. But no worries, fellow Mommy! In no time your kids will be grown and you can revert back to those darling summer sandals! I'll even toss in a Mommy confession: My last trip, it was cold and rainy, and I had worn a slip on sandal. My feet were freezing, so I took a pair of my SON'S socks (not attractive) and wore them WITH my sandals. Yes I did that. Don't judge - anything for comfy feet, so pack some extra socks for everyone in your family.
Really, don't worry about how you look. Focus on the smile on your baby's face when Mickey shows up or when fireworks light up the sky! That is the important stuff. Here's wishing you many magical memories with your little Mouseketeer!
