Hi there, Andrea!
A springtime trip to the Happiest Place on Earth is one of my favorites. Being from Philly, I don't get to go the Disneyland Resort as often as I did when I lived in sunny California, but I always try to plan a trip in April or May. You're going to have the most magical time!
While I wish the magic in that
memory maker could extend from coast to coast, it is actually only valid for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and only for 30 days from your selected start date. I know that wasn't the most pixie-dusted news, but I am happy to report there are two offerings at the Disneyland Resort that will help you capture the moment in those
PhotoPass photos!
As a fellow Walt Disney World to Disneyland park hopper, there are some nuances to be aware of between the two resorts. The first is when you purchase
Lightning Lane Multi Pass at the Disneyland Resort, not only are you getting access to Lightning Lanes on select attractions, but included is unlimited digital downloads of any and all Disney PhotoPass photos you take that day. Yes, that's right! Any and all! This includes photos with a Disney PhotoPass photographer, attraction photos, and Magic Shots. You can add Multi Pass to your ticket at the time of purchase or you can add it once you scan into the park, subject to availability. What I like about this option is that you can decide each day if it's something you are going to use instead of adding it for the length of your ticket. Since the images are downloadable, even if everyone in your group doesn't have Multi Pass, you will be able to share and send them along.
Another option for those traveling to Disneyland for a longer visit is
PhotoPass+ One Week, which you can purchase ahead of time if you are logged into your account on the Disneyland website. This allows you access to download 7 full days worth of photos taken by any Disney PhotoPass photographer, select attraction photos, and those special Magic Shots.
If you have any questions, you can also visit the Disney PhotoPass Kiosks located inside both the Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. You can ask a friendly Cast Member for their locations once you enter the park.
A few other friendly things to note about those nuances I mentioned. With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you will make your first selection once you scan into the parks unlike at Walt Disney World where you can make up to three in advance of your arrival. Additionally, you will want to take a peek at the attractions that offer Lightning Lanes at the Disneyland Resort as they can differ from those at Walt Disney World. The easiest way to do this is to hop into the Disneyland Mobile App, tap the "+" along the bottom navigation bar and select "Book Lightning Lane Entry". You can do this in your planning stages before you enter the parks. You will see an option to toggle to "Show Only Lightning Lane Experiences". I would take a look for both parks so you are prepped and ready to go!
Andrea, I'm wishing you the most magical trip!
