WDW trip planned 6/10/12-6/20/12 for a family of five! What are crowd levels like? Is it unbearably hot/humid? Is it worth going that time of year? Does it rain a lot? We are limited to our options with school/work so June is the only time we can go!

    Hi Alisha,

If you are limited to the summer months for your visit to Walt Disney World, then June is the best time to go.  Crowd levels are moderate, but starting to build.  You will find it hot and humid by mid-day but still quite manageable.  What I recommend is that you and your family arrive early at the parks each morning.  Ride the attractions while the lines are the shortest and then return to your Disney resort mid-day for a swim when the temperatures are at their peak. Then, after a lovely afternoon of fun and relaxation at your resort, head back to the parks early in the evening.  There are plenty of ways to beat the heat at Walt Disney World, even in the summer!

As for the rain, what typically happens in June is that you have gorgeous sunny days that are occasionally interrupted by a vigorous but fast-moving cloudburst.  Go to your local dollar store and buy plastic ponchos for each member of your family before you depart for your trip.  Then you can throw your rain ponchos on for the short period of time that it rains and still make progress through the parks.  I've done this many times and it works really well.

If you plan well, your family of five will have a truly magical vacation in June!  Have fun!
