We will be going to WDW for the 1st time, myself, my husband, and our 3 children aged 9, 6 and 2 1/2. Suggestions as to the best on site resort to stay at?? We're considering value or moderate, want it to be fun yet budget friendly!

    Hi Jamie!

The best Disney Value Resort is Pop Century in my opinion!  It's got the best bus service on property and the best food court on property.  It was also recently voted the best Disney Value Resort by an informal poll of the Moms Panel.

The best Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside (again voted on by the Moms Panel and my personal favorite).  It's theming is nice and it has a lot of amenities.  Your 9 year old will enjoy the pool and its relatively long slide if he or she is into swimming.  Also, it offers boat service to Downtown Disney and the boat ride is nice and relaxing, especially at night.

If you are not going to be spending much time at your hotel, besides sleeping, then I recommend just going with the Value Resort.  However, if you think you might want to take a "day off" from the theme parks, then I definitely recommend going with a Moderate Resort.  There just more to do at a Moderate Resort and the theming is more relaxing.

Good luck with your decision and write back if you have any more questions!
