Going to WDW for the 1st time mid-October 2013, we will be celebrating our daughter's 4 & 6 birthday? Any suggestions to make this time special. Besides BBB & Pirates League:)

    Hi Erika,

We celebrated our daughter's birthday at Walt Disney World last year and had a wonderful time. I am not sure if your daughters have the same exact birth date, but if they do not, I would let each celebrate her birthday on the exact day, so that each gets a special day. On that day, the birthday girl could pick the attractions that you ride, the restaurants that you eat at, and maybe even the park that you visit.

There are some great way to celebrate a birthday at no extra cost at Walt Disney World. Absolutely get the birthday button. These are available free of charge at Guest Relations at all of the theme parks. While these do not guarantee special treatment, your daughters might get a surprise birthday cupcake or other treat. Even if this does not happen, it's great to hear cast members and other guests wishing your daughter a happy birthday all day long. When you are making dining reservations, be sure to note on the reservation that you are celebrating a birthday, and mention it again when you check in to the restaurant. Again, this doesn't guarantee any special treatment, but they make get a surprise such as a birthday dessert!

There are some other options which you can do for a charge. We worked with Disney Floral and Gifts to create a customized bouquet of balloons along with a Minnie plush toy which was delivered to our room for our daughter on her birthday. You can visit them online or call them at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438). Also, you can order a custom cake by calling the Disney Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253. There is good information about this at the unofficial site - go there and search "cake hotline."

I'm sure that your daughters will have magical birthdays in Walt Disney World, Erika! Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
