WDW ticket counter told me that the new plastic cards do not have info on their backs like the paper ones, to allow them to be replaced if they are lost, and that all we have is the original receipt (which fade over time). What can we do if these are lost

Hello Joyce!  Losing unused theme park tickets can be a real nightmare, so having some record of your purchase is definitely helpful.  While Disney clearly states they are not responsible for replacing lost or stolen tickets, my experience is that if you have some proof of purchase, they will work with you to get them replaced.  I would suggest making a photocopy of your receipt and storing it in a safe place, or even scanning it and emailing it to yourself so you will have a copy in your smart phone if you need it.  You could also take a close-up digital photo of your receipt and save that as well.

I hope you have a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation - I would be more than happy to answer any other questions you may have.  Have a magical day.
