We will be in WDW 11/28 - 12/5 we are thinking about booking a fishing trip, is it possible to wait till we arrive so we have a better idea of the weather or do we need to book in advance? Do they take you out in the rain? Will the guide accept a tip?

Hi Patty!  I love to fish and have taken the Disney guided fishing excursions many times.  To this date I have never not caught at least one fish and sometimes we have caught so many that we can hardly take the time to put the bait on the hook!

I suggest you go ahead and book a trip and as it gets closer you can cancel.  You are not penalized as long as you cancel at least 24 hours before.  At certain times of the year these trips are popular and this way you would at least have the option to check the weather versus not being able to reserve a boat because they are full. You can make a reservation by calling Disney recreation at 407-939-7529.

The boats will go out in the rain unless the weather is too stormy or unbearable and of course if there is lightning.  Small light showers don't deter good fishermen or women!

You can click HERE to read more information about the trips.  Tipping is not required although we most often leave the guide with something....especially if he or she has found the good fishing spot! Have a great time and good luck!
