Going to WDW for Thanksgiving 2010 and staying at a DVC resort. Has anyone used the dining plan as a DVC member, and if so, is it worth it?

Hello Kayln!  Thank you so much for visiting the Moms Panel.  As a DVC member myself, I can tell you that my family and I are still big fans of the Disney Dining Plan.  For us, it is the best way to enjoy Disney Dining at its finest without taking a big chunk out of our wallets.  Trust me, my husband and I decided to put this to the test, not once, but twice.  We realized our mistake when our meals added up to a total that was way beyond the amount we would have saved by utilizing the Disney Dining Plan.  We had to try it out twice to really prove to ourselves that the DDP was the way to go.  So, I have to say that I would highly recommend using the DDP.  It really does save on money and you are more likely to experience many more character meals that you would otherwise shy away from because of the pricing.  Again, this is based on my experience, but I am happy to share it with you.
Please let me know how I can help with any other questions you may have.  I hope you really enjoy your vacation.  November will be knocking on your door in no time.  Please come back and visit the panel again as you continue planning for your upcoming WDW vacation.  Have a magical day!
