Hello, dear Christopher! Welcome back, old friend!
It's fantastic to have you with us once again!
I love talking about 'Ohana because
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is one of my favorite places at the Walt Disney World Resort. I'm telling you that because I want to warn you that there will be a
tiny little bias in this answer, but I promise I'll do my best to give you reliable advice!
Neither of these locations served themed Thanksgiving meals last year, but their menu may change in 2020. In my opinion, 'Ohana is less likely to adopt a traditional cuisine on Thanksgiving because of its theme, so I think it's a safer bet than
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.
I also tend to prefer
'Ohana for Thanksgiving because its theme is deeply connected to one of the things I'm most thankful for: family. I'm Brazilian, so the Thanksgiving tradition does not run deep in my house. But as I moved to the United States, I gradually realized the wonder of having a holiday to celebrate being close to the people I love, whether we're related or not.
Yesterday I had a
wonderful evening with a few members of my
Disney Parks Moms Panel family, and I'm still smiling because of them. That's why, to me, celebrating Thanksgiving at a place called 'Ohana would be extra special. As Lilo would say, 'Ohana means family.
I hope that this answer helps you decide on your upcoming trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort in November, dear Christopher. If more questions come up as you're arranging the final details, please, don't hesitate to come back to us. You can count on our little 'ohana!
May the magic be with you,
Julie
