We will be at WDW for the Star Wars Half Marathon and are staying at The Boardwalk. The finish line is in the Epcot parking lot. I would like to know if we will able to walk back thru Epcot to the International Gateway to return to our room?

Hey Geoffrey! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I just love visiting Walt Disney World during the runDisney events.  My family and I are avid runners and these events are top notch.  In order to get from the finish line to Disney's BoardWalk Inn via Epcot, you will be required to use a park ticket upon entry.  If you aren't planning on using a park ticket that day, you can always use the bus service that will transport you from Epcot to your resort instead.

If you do end up using a park ticket and walking through Epcot to get to the International Gateway, I suggest stopping by the France pavilion before you leave the park.  There you'll find one of my favorite places to refuel after a race, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie.  Grab a celebratory mimosa and a jambon beurre sandwich which is ham and cheese, dijion mustard butter all on a demi baguette. Make sure to order it "chaud" - which means hot in french.  They'll be more than happy to heat it up for you and it becomes this warm, buttery, crunchy goodness that is simply delicious and just what you'll need after a half marathon!

I hope this helps, happy running!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
