Hi! We will be at WDW for Spring Break. We have planned a few days to visit the parks. We have rented a minivan and would like to take our kids on a daytrip outside of Orlando to a beach. What nice, fun beaches are close enough to drive to for the day?

    Hi Melissa,

If you're looking for a gorgeous, family friendly beach resort along the Atlantic Ocean, I would call to see if there are any rooms available at Disney's Vero Beach Resort.  It is an easy two-hour drive southeast from Walt Disney World.  My family stayed at this resort two years ago in July and we found it to be just charming.  There's a great pool, wonderful family friendly activities, and a lovely stretch of beach to enjoy.

If you are not looking to stay overnight, you might want to consider spending a day at Daytona Beach.  It takes about 90 minutes to drive there.  I spent many days on that beach as a child and enjoyed the experience.

Best wishes for a magical spring break trip!
