Will be at WDW 11/26 through 12/1. Want to spend Sunday Resort Hopping to see the Xmas decorations. Can you help with Disney "transportation" plan so we don't miss the highlights? Staying at PORiverside. Thx

    Hello Catherine,

As a fellow Ohioan, I am mighty envious of your pre-snow trip to Disney World! And I'm even more jealous because you are going at one of the prettiest seasons at the Parks!

I am a firm believer that there is more to Disney than the Theme Parks. So I think your idea to head to the Resorts to see all of the wonderful holiday decorations is fantastic.

What I would do is take the boat from your Resort to Downtown Disney. It is always decorated for Festival for the Seasons. And depending on what time of day you visit, Santa may be hanging out in his chalet.

From the Downtown Disney Marketplace, I would take a bus to one of the BoardWalk area Resorts: BoardWalk Inn, Beach Club, or Yacht Club. All of the Resorts have beautiful decorations tailored just for them. But these three Resorts have edible gingerbread displays. Make your way to the Beach Club to see a gingerbread carousel in the lobby. Then walk over to the Yacht Club for a miniature train and village. Last year, the BoardWalk had a gazebo made of gingerbread!

After you visit these Resorts, I would take the bus to the Magic Kingdom. Why? Because from there, you can hop on the Monorail to head over to the Contemporary Resort to see the 17-foot gingerbread Christmas tree. Wow! Then make your way over to the pièce de résistance - the full size gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Resort. The pastry chefs truly are culinary artists, creating this wonderful edible home. And you are able to walk into the gingerbread house and buy freshly baked good to bring back to your Resort. It's a great way to end a day of holiday touring.

I hope this helps. And I hope you have a wonderful holiday trip with your family!
