We will be at WDW from 9/8-9/14. My son's 4th bday is 9/19. We are not staying at a Disney resort, nor do we have a dining plan or Character dining experience. How can we still make his bday special at Disney?

    Hi, Tracy!

How fun to be celebrating your son's birthday in Walt Disney World!  This will be such a special celebration.

When arriving at any Disney Park, go to Guest Services and ask for your FREE Happy Birthday button that your son can proudly wear.  For a birthday treat, stop by one of the wonderful bakeries to purchase a cupcake.  You can sing Happy Birthday to him and don't forget to snap a picture!

In lieu of an autograph book, bring an oversized birthday card for the characters to sign during Meet and Greets.  This will be a great souvenir to remind your son of this magical birthday vacation.

Back at your room, hang a sign or a few decorations.  For a surprise, give him a birthday gift of a Disney Gift Card so he can buy something special at the parks.

However you decide to celebrate, make it special as this is such a magical age!  Tell your son "Happy Birthday" from all of us here at the Moms Panel!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
