Hi! Will be in WDW in Sept, staying at All-Star Sport and want to take our 5 yr old to watch the Wishes fireworks display. I heard a great place to watch is from the beach at the Poly resort. Do you need to be staying at that resort to access the beach?

    Hi Katie,

You heard correctly!  The beach at Disney's Polynesian Resort is a spectacular place from which you could view Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant.  You do not need to be a guest at this resort to watch the fireworks from this vantage point.  Just hop on a resort monorail at the Magic Kingdom and disembark at Disney's Polynesian Resort.  Walk through the Great Ceremonial House of this resort and exit at the back of the lobby.  Pass the Nanea Volcano Pool and you'll be at the beach in no time.

If you're hungry, swing by Capt. Cook's quick service restaurant on your way to the beach.  They have the tastiest soft service pineapple and vanilla ice cream here!  Yummy.  Or, if you prefer to spend a whole evening at this lovely tropical resort, you could call (407) WDW-DINE to book a dinner reservation at 'Ohana before watching the fireworks from the beach.  I bet your five-year-old would love this restaurant.  It is an especially fun place for families with small children to dine.

Have a magical vacation in September!
