Does WDW have a separate parking area for scooters while wife rides the rides or goes into restuarants ? If so do we leave the key with scooter ? Who keeps a eye on it ? We will only use it at Epcot and maybe AK. She can't walk long distances. Thanks

Hello Michael, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

You and your wife are going to have a fabulous time on your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. Guests with mobility issues do not have to miss out on any of the magic while visiting a theme park. During one of my visits with my fellow panelists, I required the use of an ECV or scooter to get around and I had access to all rides, attractions, and restaurants. If you plan to rent an ECV from any Disney Theme Park or Disney Springs, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests must be over 18 and have a photo ID to rent an ECV for the day. The daily fee is $50 for the day along with a $20 deposit.

When you are approaching the FastPass+ or Standby line, a Cast Member will direct you and your wife to the area for guests with mobility disabilities to park your vehicle. This is usually near the exit for most rides. Always take your key with you, if your ECV needs to be moved, Cast Members and put the ECV in neutral to move it without the use of your key. I would not advise leaving any valuable items in the basket of your ECV while it's unattended. Guests using ECVs may be required to transfer directly to the ride vehicle or to a wheelchair before transferring to a ride vehicle. Complimentary wheelchairs will be available for use at those attractions. Your ECV remain in the designated area until your return. Table service restaurants will also have an ECV parking area located outside the restaurant reasonably close to the entrance. Be sure to take your key with you again since the parking areas are not monitored. If you choose to leave a theme park and visit another, be sure to save your receipt. You can use an ECV at another park, provided there is availability.
