We will be at WDW in Sep. My son will be 4.5 and I'm looking for the best character dining experience for him. We are staying at AoA and are on the quick service dining plan. I'm willing to spend the $ for 1 character dining but I want it to be a good one.

Hi Whitney, I'm glad to hear that you are considering at least one character meal. These meals can be fun for everyone. You son will enjoy meeting some of his favorite characters and you can experience the joy by watching those priceless reactions and smiles.

If he is into the characters from the Disney Junior shows, such as Jake and the Neverland Pirates or Doc McStuffins, Hollywood & Vine  at Disney's Hollywood Studios is the character meal for you. We have been to this one on more than one occasion and had a wonderful experience each and every time. The food for breakfast is your typical breakfast buffet fare with items such as Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, fruits, and cereals. I wouldn't say it is the best breakfast buffet, but it is still good quality and a hearty start to your day. There is also a character lunch with the same characters, however, I've never been there for lunch.

Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom has an amazing buffet and see classic characters from the Hundred-Acre Wood. This restaurant is quite large, airy and bright providing a very appealing atmosphere and I've always loved the food at this location. As with Hollywood & Vine, the buffet offers the typical breakfast fare, with fun specialty items such as breakfast lasagna and french toast. At lunch and dinner, there are carved meats and pasta dishes.

Last, but certainly not least is my personal favorite, breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. The food is some of the best, in my opinion, with unique options like lobster eggs benedict, cheese blintzes, and scrumptious sticky buns. Characters include Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger. This one is, hands down, worth the money for me and I highly recommend it.

Keep in mind that characters can vary and could change without notice. Have a magical trip!
