How does the WDW ride share work? We are visiting in March and have two under the age of three who will not be able to ride most of the larger rides. I’m concerned about how the ride share works and if this interferes with fast passes. Thank you Liza

Hi there, Liza! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Rider Switch is absolutely ah-maz-ing! As a mom of two little ones myself, my husband and I utilize this complimentary feature each time we visit the Walt Disney World Resort. On our most recent trip, our oldest child was just barely tall enough to ride some of the rides with lower height requirements and boy, was he excited!

Here's how it works: approach the Cast Members at the attraction entrance with your whole family and let them know you would like to utilize the Rider Switch service. They will see that you have little ones and will be happy to give the first adult planning to enter the attraction the Rider Switch pass. Usually, this is on a lanyard that will be traded in for a paper Rider Switch pass with a Cast Member inside the attraction. The first adult entering the attraction can either enter the Stand By line or the FastPass+ line if that adult has a FastPass+ for that attraction.

When the first adult is done, the next adult will take the Rider Switch pass and enter the FastPass+ line. It is truly an easy process! We have found that it really cuts down on wait times for the whole family, my husband and I don't feel like we ever miss out on the more thrilling rides and there is always a lot to do while each of us are waiting with the kiddos!

I hope this helps with your vacation planning, Liza! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
