Hi Maggie!
A very royal welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend is full of fun for all participants. I love seeing the creative costumes at the start line and stopping for character photos along the course. While character greetings can vary from year to year, I think one of my favorites has been a stop that had Flynn Rider, Prince Charming, and several other princes. It was the perfect photo opportunity for all of us
runDisney princesses!
Maggie, regardless of which hotel you choose in the
Disney Resorts Collection, you'll enjoy complimentary transportation to the
runDisney Health and Fitness Expo as well as all of the races and other weekend events. With that in mind, budget and other vacation plans may be more of a priority when picking your resort. One of my favorite runDisney weekend stays was at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort with ample dining options, a relaxing pool and hot tub at the Dig Site, and a very laid-back vibe. It was a great place to unwind and rest after those early mornings and magical miles! Similarly, I also like
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort which has the added benefit of the
Disney Skyliner if you're planning to visit EPCOT and/or Disney's Hollywood Studios during your visit. You may want to consider booking a preferred room at either of these resorts which means that your room location will be closer to dining, transportation, and/or the pool - a nice perk when you have tired legs!
After you have finished your race, be sure to check out the Digital Expo and Event Guide which will be available to you closer to the race weekend as you can often find some great discounts at retail and dining locations in
Disney Springs. I recommend a reservation at
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and ordering the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits - they're delicious!
Maggie, I hope this information is helpful and wish you the best of luck with your race registration next week! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
Cheers,
Kristi
