Hi, We are going to wdw and we got the QS dining plan, and I was wondering if we made a mistake, it doesn't look like there are very many restaurants to choose from in each park. Also after 5 days our son may get sick of the children's menu.

    Apryl:

As I mentioned to another recent guest to our site, last year I noticed that Disney did not list all of its non-Disney restaurants on the first edition of its 2009 dining guide, and it looks like they've done it again for the 2010 guide.  When I asked my fellow Disney moms their thoughts last year, Disney Dad Bret commented that he had also noticed that for the 2008 guide.

Although we could speculate, (but that wouldn't be prudent), the fact is that non-Disney-operated eating establishments don't seem to make the first print of the dining guide each year.  I would recommend that you keep an eye on the Disney website for its updated dining guide.  Last year, I noticed that the guide was updated around mid-January and all of our family's favorites from previous years were in the updated guide.

As for the children's menu, I think you'll find that their offerings vary greatly from restaurant to restaurant.  My son can get a chicken leg at one place and the ubiquitous chicken nuggets at another.  Best of all, instead of fries, most Disney quick service locations now will offer carrots or grapes as alternative sides.

If you want a quick glance at the children's menus, I suggest looking at www.allears.net.  They have the menus of most of Disney's restaurants under their Dining heading and it's a lot quicker to navigate, I've found, than using the official Disney website.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
