Hi we are going to WDW in October 5th-12. We have two children ages 15 and 5 I wanted to know how many days we should allow for each park?

    Hi Erin,

October is a great time to go to Walt Disney World. The weather is still warm, but the crowds are much lighter than during the summer months. I notice you're traveling right before Columbus Day Weekend. I think you'll find the parks are a lot more full towards the end of your vacation than at the beginning, but overall, it looks like you are setting yourself up for a magical vacation!

As far as how many days to spend in each park. That is such a personal decision. If you can be flexible with your schedule, I would plan on at least one full day in each park. Then you can go back to parks that your family enjoyed most.  If you are someone who needs to have definite plan of action in order to enjoy/relax on your vacation, then I would spend an additional day in both Magic Kingdom and Epcot for sure. I think you can easily spend two days in both of these parks.

Hope this helps get you started with your planning. Be sure to come back if you need help with suggestions for dining, activities, or attractions.

    Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
