Hi there, Kathy!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about dining at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. I truly enjoy both restaurants you mentioned, and each one is quite different from the other.
The
Hoop-Dee-Do Musical Revue is a family friendly variety style show that takes you to the Wild West. The food? DELICIOUS. Save room for the strawberry shortcake. You'll thank me later! This particular dinner show holds a special place in my heart, as I have dined there too many times to count. If it interests you at all, I recommend that you go for it!
On the other hand,
Mickey's Backyard BBQ is an awesome character meal, hoedown style, with some of your favorite Disney Characters dressed in their western wear. The BBQ food is tasty, and you'll also have the chance to dance alongside the characters. Keep in mind that this experience takes place in an open-air pavilion and characters are subject to change.
If I had to select just one, it would be Hoop-Dee-Do because of the slapstick comedy and interactive show. However, each experience is top notch and your choice will really depend on what type of experience you most prefer. Have a wonderful time on your vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Magically yours in 2018,
Jacqui C.
