Hi! We'll be in WDW in October with park hopper and dining. Thinking of upgrading to annual passes and getting TIW - will I be able to cancel dining? Or snack use during food and wine be better with the DP? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Tricia!

October is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World, Epcot's International Food & Wine festival is a big reason I love visiting this time of year.  Using your snack credits at the Food and Wine festival is probably one of the best uses for snack credits at Walt Disney World.

Upgrading your tickets to Annual Passes is a terrific idea if you plan on visiting Walt Disney World multiple times within the same year, plus you will be eligible for Disney's Tables In Wonderland card. To do this just visit any Guest Relations at one of the 4 parks or Downtown Disney. The Tables In Wonderland card, in my opinion, will save you more money than Disney's Dining Plan and can be used at most locations throughout Walt Disney World.Plus, the additional savings with Annual Passholder only discounts can help you to keep visiting the magic over and over again.

All of Disney's Dining Plans (unless you are a DVC member) must be added or cancelled within 72 hours of your arrival date, after that no changes can be made.  Additionally, any change in your Magic Your Way Package 44 days or less to your arrival date could result in a $50 change fee.I would suggest taking a look at the menus for dining locations that you have planned for your upcoming vacation, you can find these at allears.net, and compare the price out of pocket to the price of your dining plan.If it is going to be less expensive to use your Tables In Wonderland card, personally I would get rid of the dining plan.

Since you will be visiting in October, have you considered checking out Disney's Free Dining Promotion?Available for most dates in October, this is a very popular promotion and could save you a bundle on your vacation.Be sure to check out Disney's Special Offers page for more details!

I hope this was helpful and please let me know if you need anymore advice planning your upcoming vacation!

    Best Wishes!
