    We will be in WDW in October. My husband has knee problems and has a hard time climbing steps. We are staying at POR and I know they have no elevators. How hard is it to request a first floor room and how far in advance would you suggest?

    Hi Linda,

    You will really enjoy staying at Port Orleans. There are stairs but there are not too many stairs to climb.
    I would call in now and again about a week prior. Have the Cast Member note it on your reservation that you would like a ground level room because of your husband's knee.

    They will try to help accomodate your situation if there are rooms available.
