Hiya Betsy!
Thank you so much for stopping by! My kids love '
Disney Pin Trading,' but typically keep most of the pins that they buy or are gifted. My oldest is the most into 'trading,' and really enjoys it! I guess you'd say they're more 'pin collectors' than traders, but they really do love their pins and lanyards. When traveling without them, one of the goodies I always bring back with me is a pin for each one of them! I even have my own pin collection with some 'really old' (kid talk) pins dating back to 1999. Each one brings back special memories for each of us!
If your son wants to pin trade, he'll need to start with a lanyard and some pins. The best place to find pins before you head to the Walt Disney World Resort is The Disney Store--either online or nearby, you can buy a starter kit of pins for him--getting them on sale is an even sweeter deal! The important thing to remember is that only authentic pins are trade-able, so only those from Disney Parks, or The Disney Store are eligible to trade. You'll find they are stamped on the backside of the pin.
Keep in mind, you'll
want to buy pins that he doesn't necessarily want to keep, as those will be the ones he'll trade for pins he wants to add to his collection. Cast Members wearing pin lanyards will happily trade with him, provided he asks! It's a really fun way to learn about starting conversations, and about other people!
Have a magical vacation and thank you again for stopping by!
