Welcome to planDisney, Heather!
I’m so excited that you get to take your daughter to The Most Magical Place on Earth for her first time! There’s nothing more magical than the look in a child’s eyes the first time they see
Cinderella Castle! Enjoy every single moment!
The very first thing you need to know is that Cast Members are well trained for situations regarding lost children. They are trained to resolve these moments effectively and quickly. So, if you find yourself in this situation, try to remain calm as things should be taken care of well.
If your daughter gets separated from you, notify a Cast Member as soon as possible. That Cast Member will be able to get security notified. An alert will go out across the whole park. All you’ll need to do is give a description of your child (what she looks like, what she is wearing, etc.) and remain calm.
You can also properly prep your daughter for this situation. She can memorize your cell phone number, and learn what the Cast Members look like so she can obtain help quickly. If your daughter can get to a Cast Member and inform them that she has lost her parents, that will speed up the recovery process as that Cast Member should receive the missing child alert and will be trained on how to get your daughter back to you promptly. They also may be able to call you directly. (If your daughter has a hard time memorizing numbers, you can always do what my family does and make a cute beaded bracelet that she can wear that has your number on it. All she would need to do is show the Cast Member her bracelet.)
If you have additional questions, Heather, we’d love to hear from you again at
planDisney! OH! And don’t forget to get your daughter’s complimentary “1st Visit” button at any of the gift shops at the theme parks!
