Karina from TN Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Hello moms, will be at WDW with my mom, who will be using a cane. Can she use the handicapped entrance with her cane, and can the CM slow down the moving walkways for her to help her get onto the rides more easily? (I know they do this for wheelchairs) TY!

Hi, Karina!  Traveling with a guest with different abilities can be a challenge, but I have always found Walt Disney World to be the most accommodating of guests with special needs.

There aren't really handicapped entrances at the attractions.  Guests with disabilities can generally be accommodated through the regular queue.  If your mom has trouble waiting in lines, you can secure a Disability Access Services card at Guest Services at any of the theme parks.  This card will allow you to go to an attraction and be given a return time - similar to the FastPass+ system - so you won't have to have your mom standing in the line for any length of time.

As for the moving walkways, they can absolutely make them slower or stop them altogether.  This will make it easier for her to get onto and off of an attraction.

I hope your upcoming visit is absolutely spectacular.
