We are going to WDW MK on June 1st. There is a special event that night. Will we be able to still watch the fireworks at 10pm inside the park? Also, how are the crowds on the day of a special event?

Hey there, Gabby! And welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by! How exciting that you'll be at The Most Magical Place on Earth in just days!

Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park is a special ticketed event that allows guests to experience the park with lower crowds and shorter wait times. My experience has been that these particular events have little to no impact on the crowds during the day. The good news is that Magic Kingdom Park is currently scheduled to stay open until 10 pm on June 1, and Happily Ever After is set for 10 pm. You will be able to enjoy the show and then exit the park. Always be sure to check the Walt Disney World calendar as hours and showtimes are subject to change. You can also find this information on your My Disney Experience app

Happily Ever After is a nighttime spectacular that includes fireworks, lasers, and some pretty incredible special effects. It is the ultimate combination of favorites for Disney fans with a message that reminds us to never give up on our dreams. I get emotional every time I see it, and I'm tearing up now just thinking about it! It is an absolute must-do for my family. During busy times, finding a viewing spot becomes a priority. I recommend staking out a place about an hour before start time. You'll find that some people line up even earlier, particularly with Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, currently being scheduled an hour beforehand. The Tomorrowland bridge has some good options and is not on the parade route. If you plan to catch the parade, Sleepy Hollow has a nice view of both, but it's a popular choice, so get there early. If you are willing to sacrifice views for the sake of avoiding crowds, head to Fantasyland or Storybook Circus. You can still enjoy the fireworks and music, but you'll miss the castle projections. Wherever you choose, send a member of your party to grab snacks for everyone while you wait.

While you're in Magic Kingdom, check out the recently reopened Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. The blasters are now handheld, making it easier to hit those targets and defeat Zurg! I was at Walt Disney World last week and got to ride this twice. Did I make Galactic Hero? Absolutely not. But I had so much fun! I'm so excited for you, Gabby! It's going to be a magical visit, and I wish I could hear all about it! If you have any more questions, be sure to let me know. We're always happy to help here at planDisney
