We are going to WDW mid March, do you know if I will need to pack bug spray?

Hi, Nicole! I'm like a little girl when it comes to bugs (which does nothing to diminish my macho-ness of being a dad on the Moms Panel, right?) Bees, wasps and hornets are my nemeses. Mosquitoes have an agenda against me. I even believe fireflies are out to get me (sorry, Ray.)

I have never seen better pest management than at Disney World. And it's not a result of efficiencies achieved when Tiana and Naveen slip into frog mode. Rather, it's the result of attention to detail and an eye toward the full guest experience.

Disney World has over 7 million trees, shrubs and flowers, spread out over 4,000 landscaped acres. Disney's Pest Management crew controls pest populations through treatment applications and the release of beneficial insects. Would you believe that there is a pirate bug (Orius sp) that is used to control caterpillars and similar insects on property? Only in Disney World, right?!

It doesn't hurt to have some bug spray with you for instances when you're chilling outdoors by a body of water, trekking through Fort Wilderness, etc. Long story short (and sorry to nerd out on you a little) - you'll hardly be phased by bugs on Disney World property, especially in the parks.
