Hi! I will be going to WDW May 5-12th, travelling with my 9 year old daughter & my parents. We will be staying off site. Past guests have recommended making dinner reservations at the various parks. Should we or can we go just "wing it"?

Hi, Tamara! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing us this great question! I am so excited for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Springtime is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to take in the beauty of the topiaries at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival! To answer your question, I am a planner. I have spreadsheets at the ready and I plan each and every meal and attraction time! However, that is not the case for everyone! I have friends who did not make any reservation and walked up to Disney restaurants and were lucky enough to get in with little to no wait. If you have your heart set on a specific Disney restaurant, Character Meal, or Dinner Show, then I suggest making your Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days before your arrival as certain offerings do sell-out quickly. Some Disney restaurants that typically fill-up quickly are Cinderella’s Royal Table, Be Our Guest Restaurant, and Chef Mickey’s, among others. Remember that all you need to hold most Advanced Dining Reservations is a valid credit card, although some do require advanced payment. If you change your mind, as long as you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation there is no charge, but be sure to familiarize yourself with the cancellation policy

I hope this answers your question and bon appétit!
