Hi! We are going to WDW in May & will stay at AKL. We want to try a water park for 1st time (we bought Hopper with Water Passes). Which park is better for my boys (6, 9) and what should we bring for the day? Do they provide life jackets? Thanks!

Sandy, in just a few months you will be waking up to giraffes, antelopes, and zebras outside your window!

You can not make a wrong choice when picking a Walt Disney World water park. Either park will provide you with an overwhelming number of splash and soak options. Life jackets are providing so pack towels, sunscreen, flip flops, surf shirts or other cover ups, and your Key to the World card for charging food and drinks. Towels are available for rent if you choose not to lug your own. Consider packing dry clothes to stash in a rented locker if your kids do not want to travel back to your resort in wet suits.

If you want to be blown away by fun, head to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon to snorkel with sharks, swim in six foot waves, float down Castaway Creek, or surge down Humunga Kowabunga. This park is home to my favorite water park attraction on the planet- the Crush 'n' Gusher.

Splash in a rapidly melting ski resort at Disney's Blizzard Beach. Here you can bob in Melt-Away Bay, head down a slippery sled hill in Toboggan Racers, or travel as family in a giant tube in Teamboat Springs. If you can handle the speed and height, enjoy the thrill of Summit Plummet. This park leans slightly more toward the thrilling side, but you can easily spend a delightfully happy day here without ever experiencing an adrenaline fueling attraction.

Remember your family will have fun in the sun splashing and playing no matter which water park you visit. Enjoy!
