We are going to WDW in May and want to do my daughters first haircut there. We have heard that you can get children's haircuts in the Magic Kingdom. Is this true? Where is it located? Thanks so much.

    Hi Julie,

Yes you can get your daughter's haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop right on Main Street USA.  I had my daughter's first haircut there last fall and it was one of my most memorable Disney experiences.

As you enter Magic Kingdom the shop is on your left.  It tucked away in the corner and can be easily missed.  They only have two barber chairs and it is first-come first-serve.  The cost is very inexpensive, I believe it was less than $20 when I was there.  You may also get some surprises if you mention that it is her first haircut.

My daughter was two during our trip.  That day she visited the parks dressed in her Cinderella costume.  After her haircut Penny, the barber, was nice enough to put my daughters hair up in a beautiful bun.  We had brought a tierra and she helped spray it in.  My daughter looked great.

Be aware that you can pay with either your resort card or a credit card, but there is not a place for a tip.  We had to go to an ATM machine and get cash to give to our stylist.

Enjoy your trip.  If you see Penny, tell her Michelle says hi.
