We are going to WDW May 5-12 and have character meals scheduled almost everday at least once if not more throughout the day. How long do the character meals usually take? Thanks.

    Hi Jessica!
Wow,  you are in for some major character interaction! Your question is an interesting one because the length of your meal is entirely up to you and your party. What usually determines duration is two primary factors. First, the length of time spent actually eating, and second, the pace with which that meal's characters arrive. For example, last month my family and I had breakfast at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. We walked up at 7 AM and were the first family seated. We all got food and began eating. Within 15 minutes, Minnie Mouse showed up at our table. The rest of the Fab 5 came at roughly 5 minute intervals. Start to finish was less than an hour. There are Cast Members who patrol areas of the dining room as it fills up. Once they notice that most parties have arrived and been served, characters begin to circulate the room one by one. They will arrive at your table for hugs, autographs and pictures. The pace is usually pretty casual, although my kids aren't very interested in eating until they have seen everybody. The host/hostess who seats you will tell the group who is featured at that particular meal. Most people wrap up once they have seen all of the characters, although others linger for a bit longer to enjoy the atmosphere. There is no time limit, so feel free to hang around, but feel just as free to make a mad dash for the parks! Enjoy your trip and tell Mickey I said, "Hi".
