We will be at WDW March-9-14, 2014 when the Lion King show is closed. Does that mean the the character greetings at Camp Minnie-Mickey and on the trails (Pocahantas, etc.) leading to the Lion King theater are also closed? If so, where are they now?

    Hi Sharon,

Animal Kingdom is undergoing a number of exciting updates and expansions which are taking place in the former Camp Minnie Mickey area. That has caused the relocation of a few attractions.

As you noted, the Festival of the Lion King is on hiatus while its new home in the Africa section of the park is readied. Character meeting spots also have moved. You now will find Mickey and Minnie in the Adventurers Outpost area.

Pocahontas is greeting friends on the Discovery Island Trail; Goofy, Pluto and Donald are in DinoLand USA.

You can find the complete list of character spots under the Entertainment section of Animal Kingdom's website. Make sure, too, that you pick up a Times Guide when you reach the park for the most up-to-date listings. You also can find daily character listings in the My Disney Experience app.

I hope that's helpful. Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, and have a wonderful visit to the Walt Disney World resort.
