I will be going to WDW in Mar. 2010 with a mix age of children ranging from 4-17 what is a good plan in order to make everyone happy?

Hi, Jessica!    While there are a lot of attractions that are great for the whole family, not every attraction is appropriate for all ages.

I suggest that you begin by planning out what parks you plan to attend (this is Mommy's pick - it is a perk of being "The Mom!")   Then, go on the website with the kids.   Let each of them pick one attraction at each park that they want on their "MUST DO!" list!    Your little one might want the Flying Dumbos, and your 17 year old might be super excited about Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.    (And don't let the older ones fool you - they will enjoy those Flying Dumbos, too!)   When you check into your resort, get maps for each of the parks, and circle those attractions you don't want to miss.  Everyone will feel special when it is time to go on "MY PICK!"   And, don't forget JESSICA'S pick - you get to enjoy this vacation, too!

I would plan to make the dining arrangements without them, and not tell them until that day where you will be dining.   Each morning, let your family know the plan for the day (park selection, special attractions selected by each of you, and where you will be dining.)   This will be really exciting for everyone if you have a special meal planned at Chef Mickeys or Donald's Safari Breakfast.   There are just so many dining choices, and if you start asking everyone's opinion, you might have a big job just to have dinner!  But, if you are ambitious, you can let each member of  your party choose a restaurant.

By making everyone feel they are part of the planning, you can increase the chances of a great vacation!   Have fun planning and good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
