Will be in WDW in less than 2 weeks! We are staying off property so we will be driving to the parks. planning on MK and HS. How does parking work? Once we park are we close to the entrances or do we need to board another type of transportation? parking $?

    Hi Cheryl,

I know that you are super excited because your trip is so very close!

Currently, parking is $14.00 per day but keep in mind that it is always subject to change without notice.  If you leave a theme park to visit another theme park on the same day or return to the same theme park, you will not have to pay another fee that day.  You'll just need to show your receipt from the first theme park that day to the Cast Member at the parking plaza.

Once you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS), Cast Members will direct you to park.  The earlier you arrive, the closer to the DHS entrance you'll be when you park.  There have been times when I've been close enough that I walked from the parking lot.  If not, there are trams available to take you to the park entrance.

Magic Kingdom is a little different. Once you arrive at the parking area, a tram will take you to the Ticket and Transportation Center (you can walk if you're close enough). From there, you will take the monorail or ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom.  We love the monorail but the ferry boat also offers a nice quiet ride with an amazing view as you approach the Magic Kingdom.

Be sure you make note of the section and isle where you park. You could also take a picture of it to help you remember. At the end of a long fun-filled day, I sometimes have trouble remembering where I parked and this has always been super helpful to me.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
