At WDW 11/7 - 11/14 and on the last day I want to book a later flight and take wife and son for lunch and shopping in Downtown Disney. Not sure about check out policy re: time and what we would do with our luggage. Any information / suggestions? Thanks.

    Hello Colin!

I always try to book the latest flight possible on our last day so that we can enjoy a little bit more time at one of the parks before heading home. It makes leaving a little easier, but I'm still always sad to say goodbye!

Check-out time at most of the resorts is around 11:00 am. You can request a late check-out by speaking with the front desk when you first arrive and then again a few days prior to your departure. Late check-outs are never guaranteed, but in most cases the front desk and housekeeping staff will work together to accommodate you if at all possible. It will all depend on how many people are checking out on that day along with how many new guests will be checking in and the amount of rooms needed.

If you can't secure a late check-out you can still enjoy your day at Downtown Disney without worrying about your luggage. All you'll need to do is visit bell services at your resort and they will take your luggage and hold it for you until the time comes for you to depart for the airport. You will get a receipt from them with your information that you will need to show when you return and they will get your bags for you. On my most recent trip I even had bell services hold a large bouquet of flowers that had been delivered to my room the day before and they gladly took care of them for me along with my suitcases.

I hope this helps! It sounds like you have a wonderful vacation planned!
