Hi - will be in WDW, with our 3 kids (5, 4 & 10 mo) for our 11th anniversary. Any suggestions as to how I may surprise my husband? I made (character) dinner reservations that night at Garden Grove, but was wondering how I could personalize.

    Katherine:

Congratulations on your 11th Anniversary!  My husband and I just celebrated our 15th and I felt like I'd accomplished a major feat!  We're going to Disney, too, to celebrate this summer!

Although you didn't mention how much you wanted to spend, Disney really does offers something for every budget.  Here are a few things to consider:

    • A Sweet Ending: Top off your dinner with a custom Disney cake!  Although my favorite is the Mickey cake (it's about $40 and is delicious), you can call the cake line at (407) 827-2253 and they'll walk you through sizes, flavors, shapes and even fillings for your cake!
    • Be Adventurous:  Consider renting a pontoon boat for the whole family to enjoy at one of the marinas or splurge on a fireworks cruise after dinner!  I recommend reservations, though.  Call: (407) 939-7529
    • In-Room Celebration: Think outside your dinner celebration...I received one of these on a recent visit and was blown away at my room chock-full of Disney surprises!  You can spend as much as $400 for the whole enchilada that includes a monogrammed blanket or call (407) 827-3505 and get pricing on something as simple as a Milk-and-Cookies room celebration!  Visit www.disneyflorist.com for lots of other ideas that can be delivered.

If you want to explore some more options, go to www.disneyworld.com and click on Discover at the top of the page and scroll down to the farthest option on the right, "What Will You Celebrate?" (or just click here).  From there, you can customize your celebration and see what the site recommends!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
