We will be in WDW in June, over my daughters 12 th birthday. I want to do something special for her but don't want my 9 year old son feeling left out. Any suggestions?

    Hello Stephanie!

Celebrating birthdays at Walt Disney World is quite the magical experience.  Make sure your daughter receives one of the birthday buttons so cast members will be sure to acknowledge her special day. You can pick one up from your resort or from any of the Guest Services locations throughout the parks.

There are many fun activities they could do together to celebrate her special day.  The Pirates League at the Magic Kingdom has fun packages they could each choose from.  The First Mate package may be perfect for your son, while the birthday girl could choose a more fanciful option, such as The Mermaid Deluxe Package.  He will be able to choose a pirate make-up option, receive pirate accessories and even a pirate name.  She will receive mermaid make-up and hairstyle, mermaid accessories, nail polish, and a special mermaid t-shirt and tutu.  Both will then have the option to participate in the daily Adventureland Pirate Parade.

If your kids enjoy the water, another swell option would be surf lessons at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  Classes are taught by surfing pros who ensure everyone receives the attention they need. By the end of the lesson, your children may riding waves in the world's largest outdoor wave pool!

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with in planning your celebration.  Have a wonderful vacation and please wish your daughter a very happy birthday from all of us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
