I will be going to WDW in July with my husband, 15yr old and 8month old. Do you have any tips on keeping the infant cool during the hot summer days in her stroller? Thank you in advance!

    Hi Erin!

Congratulations on your big summer vacation!  I have vacationed with my children as infants during very warm weather and have found the following tips to be helpful to me:

    • Dress your baby in minimal clothing; wicking fabrics are great
    • Pack a swimsuit for splash areas in the theme parks
    • Bring a stroller with a large canopy and also sunshade (may have to purchase separately)
    • Bring a cooling cloth or bandana (I use Frogg Toggs)
    • Bring a portable clip-on fan for the stroller
    • Bring a soft-sided cooler with frozen juice pouches and cool drinks each day into the theme parks. The juice pouches will thaw into "slushies" and keep other items cool
    • Take breaks often and let your baby out of the stroller to enjoy the breeze
    • Put ice packs with covers beside the baby in the stroller when the temperature rises
    • Enjoy air conditioned breaks at the Baby Care Centers in each theme park  **Love these**
    • Keep a thermal sippy cup with cool fluids within reach of your baby
    • Put overnight diapers on your baby in the theme parks due to the above tip

I have also found that my young children are the happiest when we visit the theme parks early morning and take an afternoon break for nap and swim time.  Then in the evenings we like to return to the parks for some more fun when the sun is less intense.

I hope this information is helpful to you as you plan your upcoming vacation Erin.  For other toddler & Infant tips you should check out the previously answered questions here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel under Planning and Budgeting.

    Blessings,
