Howdy Amanda! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Your husband has the same concern that my husband had for our first Disney vacation. Thankfully, there is a way to make sure that your MagicBand charges don't get charged to your credit card linked to your My Disney Experience account.
What we do most often during our Disney vacation is use our
MagicBand for all of the charges for that day. At the end of the night, once we arrive back at our Disney resort for the evening, we stop by the front desk and ask the Cast Member there to print out our charges for the day. We take a look at all the magic we bought and decide how much we want to pay right then. This allows us to control how much will be charged to our credit card on file. As long as you visit the front desk the same day that you make those purchases, you are sure to get ahead of the charges making it to your credit card. While at the front desk, you can pay on your balance with a
Disney Gift Card, another credit card of your choice, or cash.
If using the MagicBands make you a bit nervous about your spending, you can always use the credit card of your choice, Disney Gift Card or cash when you make those purchases. There have been some Disney vacations where we haven't used our MagicBands for purchases at all. I wanted to make sure that we stayed on budget, so I just used my cash and Disney Gift Cards.
Amanda, I hope this helps to bring a bit of comfort to your husband. If you have more questions about your upcoming vacation, please stop by and visit with us again soon!
