Hey there, Emily. Welcome to
planDisney.
I vacation at Walt Disney World every year for Christmas, Emily, and am no stranger to how much fun a Christmas party at Magic Kingdom Park can be. The parties have changed and looked a bit different over the years but are still so magical and fun. Emily, there has not yet been an announcement made if
Disney's Very Merriest After Hours event is returning this year. Typically, we will see that come out later in the spring to early summer. When an announcement is made, we will be able to find out all of the details over on the
Disney Parks Blog so be sure to keep an eye out over there as well. Traditionally, Christmas party dates run from right after Halloween to right after Christmas to give plenty of time for all Guests visiting during the Holiday season time to enjoy.
A party like Disney's Very Merriest After Hours event is a separately ticketed event that has its own hours and rules. With this ticket, you are allowed into
Magic Kingdom Park at a certain time which would know beforehand while purchasing tickets, most of the time it is a few hours before the party festivities officially begin. Then, a few hours later when the party technically starts, all Guests who do not hold that special event ticket will be required to leave the theme park. If you would like to visit Magic Kingdom Park earlier than your ticketed time that day, let's say in the morning, you would then need to also purchase a standard theme park ticket to Magic Kingdom Park and make a park pass reservation for that day.
What I like to do on a party day, Emily, is enjoy the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I happen to be staying at or plan a day of shopping, dining and relaxing at
Disney Springs. I don't like to double pay to be in the theme parks so this works out perfectly. Because you do gain access into Magic Kingdom Park before the party technically starts, you'll have some time to experience some must-do attractions at Magic Kingdom. That way, when the party starts you can focus on all of the holiday festivities that you are paying for instead.
I am also super excited for this holiday season and can't wait until we find out more information about what festivities will be at Walt Disney World this year. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Happy holidays!
