Hi Rachelle,
Welcome to planDisney! As the mom of Darth Vader's biggest 7-year-old fan, the loss of Star Wars Launch Bay was certainly a sad situation for us, too. He was so sad to hear that this experience was being replaced, though he is super excited about the
Magic of Disney Animation attraction that will be taking its place. This family-friendly experience will be inspired by the fantastic short film
Once Upon a Studio and will transport guests into the whimsical world of Walt Disney Animation Studios.
While you're planning to start your adventure at Walt Disney World soon, I want to assure you that the Force is strong and it looks like there will be an opportunity to
meet Darth Vader in Hollywood Studios during your visit! At this time, Lord Vader is greeting guests just outside of
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue. After your chance meeting with The Chosen One, you can hop in the queue and explore a galaxy far, far away with C-3PO.
Rachelle, while this is great news worthy of dramatic Imperial fanfare, please keep in mind that this information is subject to change. Additionally, you'll want to check the
performance times on this page just before your trip as they have not been published for April yet.
While you're in Hollywood Studios, I do hope you have plans to visit
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. It is truly one of the most immersive lands I've ever experienced. You can
fly the Millennium Falcon or
join the Resistance and escape the First Order. Every visit makes me feel like I've been instantly transported to Batuu. Since you'll be celebrating a special milestone, consider making reservations to build a custom lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop or to design and assemble a droid at the
Droid Depot. These experiences are guaranteed to make your time in Galaxy's Edge memorable.
I hope this information is helpful, Rachelle. May your plans come together smoothly, your lightsabers ignite on the first try, and the Force be with you throughout your magical visit. If you need any additional help with planning, come on back!
Yours in the Force,
Sakinah
