We will be going to WDW (first trip)! my husband and two daughter ages 9 & 7 in june 2013. When do you suggest we start "planning" events to attend and shows? Also when should we make dinner reservations? am I getting to far ahead?

    Hi Crystal!

This is a great question.  I don't think it is every too early to start planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation.  Ideally, you really want to have a good plan complete about 7 months before your trip but only if getting into some of the most popular restaurants at Walt Disney World is really important to you.  If the most popular restaurants are not that important then you can wait until closer to your trip.  I write this because Advance Dining Reservations, which are critical for the Table Service restaurants, can be made 180 days in advance.  If you know what park you want to be in on a certain day and/or where you want to dine, then you have a good chance of getting all of the reservations that you want!

By the way, I suggest getting the tour book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel for everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
