So we're going to wdw for the first time. The only time we can go is end of July first few days of August or in November for thanksgiving, which time would you say is better to go, so we can see and enjoy more? We will be going for 9 days.

    Hi Dersiree,

Thanks for coming to us with your question! My best advice in selecting your travel dates is to avoid major holidays, if at all possible. One of our favorite family memories to Walt Disney World happened to be an August trip. We prepared for afternoon rain storms (only temporary!), we expected it to be very hot, and we planned our itinerary to accommodate these elements. August means swimming in the evening, enjoying Disney's Water Parks and taking advantage of short lines early in the morning and during typically-short rain storms when the droves of guests return to their Resort hotels. It can be done ... and we will help you plan the details!

No matter when you decide to travel, we can help you plan an itinerary to maximize your "Disney-time." Many guests enjoy traveling during Thanksgiving to enjoy the holiday decorations and special events. Coming from Chicago, my family really enjoys traveling during the warmest months. It will depend on what's most important to you and your expectations of the vacation.

Coming as far away as California, I'd suspect you'd like to see and do "almost" everything! (Even us Moms and Dads haven't done it all - so much to see!) Traveling outside of holiday weeks will allow you to take advantage of lighter crowds.

Let me know what other questions you have, Dersiree, and I'd be delighted to help you plan your Walt Disney World vacation further.

    Happy planning,
    Sherri
