We are going to wdw on 8/31-9/5 for the first time. There are 7 in our party. Two are kids 4 and 8.Some character dinners take 2 dinner credits and others don't. Could you give a list of dinners and lunches the kids will enjoy that take 1 credit?

    Hi Brittany,

Character dining is so much fun!  It gives everyone in your party a chance to have a great meal, laugh, and interact with some of your favorite characters.  While Cinderella's Royal Table takes 2 table service credits, I think you'll find that there are several great options available for only one table service credit.  Some of our family's favorites include:

Garden Grill in the Land Pavilion at EPCOT - the restaurant rotates past several scenes as you dine.  The food is served family style, and some of it is even grown in the greenhouses you tour during the Living' With the Land attraction.

Akershus in Norway - if you're looking for a more affordable princess dining experience, this is it.  I recommend breakfast instead of lunch.

Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom - the food is great for breakfast or dinner.  If you have Winnie the Pooh fans, this is the place to be.

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Animal Kingdom.

Cape May Cafe at Beach Club Resort - this is one of our FAVORITE resorts and character breakfasts.

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary - this is one of the most popular character dining experiences on property.

There are also some really fun dining options that don't feature characters but still provide a really unique experience:  Whispering Canyon Cafe, 'Ohana for dinner, Biergarten, Sci-Fi Drive Inn, and 50s Prime Time Cafe are all really fun restaurants to try.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
