We are going to WDW for the first time this July with 4 kids ranging from 3-8 and I can't decide the best place to stay on the property and what is one thing that you would  definitely do. we will be there four days and I want to make the most of it

    Hi there Sarah!

Since it appears that there will be 5 or more in your travel party, I am including a link to the Disney website for resorts that will meet your needs. My two favorite Disney Resorts for your accommodation size are detailed below.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground sleep 6 and offer a full-kitchen to help save on meal expenses. There are tons of exciting onsite recreational activities and direct water taxi transportation to Magic Kingdom Park. My children loved the free nightly campfire sing-along with Chip 'n' Dale, horse back riding and the Meadow Swimmin' Pool's super fast water slide.

    Disney's Art of Animation Resort
, opening in May 2012, has spacious family suites that sleep 6 and you'll feel like you're staying in the middle of a Disney story with all of your favorite characters in the incredibly themed guest areas.

For a first Disney vacation with children ages 3-8 years, I would definitely recommend scheduling at least one character meal. There is something so magical about watching your little ones interact with some of their favorite Disney Pals in a relaxed setting where the characters come to your table. Priceless memories and plenty of photo opportunities are found at these dining experiences! Just be sure to make online advanced dining reservations or by calling 407-WDW-DINE prior to leaving home.

May your FIRST Disney vacation be practically perfect in every way!
