Hello, We are going to WDW for the first time in December. I heard something about pin trading? Is there something special you need? I think my 10 and 8 year old's will love it. Do you need to have Disney pins or can you use any really nice pins?

    Hello Tammy!
Pin Trading at Walt Disney World is so much fun! My son and I really got into it on our past trips to Walt Disney World especially when he was the age of your children. Most Cast Members wear a lanyard with pins on it and you can trade the Disney pins that you have with them (you give them one of your pins and you get to pick one of their pins). It is a one for one trade and you are permitted to trade up to two pins per Cast Member. If you have  younger children, then look for Cast Members wearing Green lanyards or Green hip lanyards because these pins are available to trade for only kids 3 to 12 years old and there are often special pins that are hard to get on these Green lanyards. The main criteria to judge whether a pin is tradable or not is that it must be a metal pin bearing a “©Disney”mark on the back that represents a Disney event, place or location, character or icon. Your children may want to get a lanyard to hold their pins and a few starter Disney pins to begin their trading with. Disney Pin Trading Etiquette will give you some other great guidelines for Disney Pin Trading on your Walt Disney World vacation. I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical and that your children find some incredible Disney pins through trading with Cast Members!
