When we are at WDW Feb '14, I will be celebrating my birthday. Hubs and I would like to have sitter service in our room for our 3 and 5 year olds while we have a date night! What kind of activities does the sitter do with the kids?

Hi Jayna! Over the years my family has used the Kids Nite Out Sitting service with the sitters coming to our resort room. I have had great sitters and have used them for ages infants on up to pre teens.

I usually arrange to have a room key made up for them that only opens the door and does not have charging privileges on it. This is so they can take the kids for a walk around the resort to get some fresh air. This is a decision you can make closer to the date that you will be using them as if you are not comfortable with that it is certainly your option. I also suggest you have the sitter order room service for the meal that night as that is an easy way to get good healthy food for the kids and the sitter doesn't have to worry about the choices as you can do that before you leave. You can also feed the kids before you go.

Every sitter I have used comes with activities such as coloring and games and books for the ages of your children. They might also bring a few toys but it is mostly paper type activities. If you have something in particular that you would love to have them do you can always request and hope it is possible such as bubbles. Our children and grandchildren loved having the sitters and the only thing they won't be able to do is to take them swimming or give them baths. This is due to the risk of both of these activities. Just be sure and let them know what ages your children are so the sitter will come prepared for them.

Exchange your cell phone numbers and let the sitter know where you will be going and that number and then go and enjoy a spectacular date night with your husband while at Disney!
